What is an Observer Account?

An Observer account is a special type of account designed for parents, guardians, tutors, or teachers. It provides comprehensive access to monitor and track your child’s or student’s educational progress without disrupting their learning experience.

Key Features of an Observer Account:

1. Track Progress:

View detailed reports on your child’s performance, including completed tasks, assessment results, and areas where improvement is needed. This feature allows you to understand their strengths and areas that require additional focus.

2. Monitor Engagement:

Access data on how much time your child spends on the platform and identify which activities they engage with most frequently. This insight helps you gauge their level of involvement and adjust support as necessary.

3. Receive Updates:

Get timely notifications about key milestones and achievements in your child’s learning journey. These updates ensure that you are always informed about their progress and any significant developments.

The Observer account is designed to provide a transparent and detailed overview of your child’s learning experience, enabling you to offer targeted support and encouragement.

How to Set Up an Observer Account for Your Child or Student

Setting up an Observer Account allows you to monitor your child’s or student’s progress. Follow these simple steps to create your Observer Account:

Step 1: Log in to Your Child’s/Student’s Account

Open your internet browser and go to https://app.reflectivelearning.co.za/

Step 2: Access the Student’s Account

On the student login page, enter your child’s/student’s login details and click ‘Login’. Be sure to enter the information exactly as it appears, as the login is case and space-sensitive.

Step 3: Navigate to the Student’s Welcome Page

Once logged in, the welcome page will display, showing the Maths and English journey planets. You should see something like this:

Now, click on the three-line menu icon (☰) at the top right corner of the page.

Step 4: Add an Observer

From the menu, select ‘Add an Observer’.

Step 5: Enter Observer Details

A pop-up will appear prompting you to fill in your details. Complete the fields and click ‘Invite’. Then, open your email inbox in a new browser tab.

Step 6: Accept the Email Invitation

Locate the Observer Account invitation email and click the link inside. This will take you back to the programme’s website, where you’ll be prompted to fill in your registration details.

Step 7: Complete Registration

Fill in your information and click ‘Complete Registration’. Be sure to review and accept the terms and conditions before finalising your registration.

Step 8: Log in to Your Observer Account

You will be redirected to the login page. This time, enter your Observer Account details to log in.

If you have more than one child or student using the programme, repeat these steps to add each of them to your Observer Account.
