Why we’ve made changes

Our approach to development has always been firmly rooted in our solid pedagogical foundations. Our teaching methodology is game-changing, which causes us to put loads of internal pressure on ourselves to deliver an equally cutting-edge technical program. As a team, we are constantly innovating and looking to improve our product to provide the maximum impact for teachers, learners and parents.

Locked Journeys

WHY LOCKED JOURNEYS ?

As we often refer to, learning is like building a tower. Attempting to add a high-level block before the base is in place is not possible. As such, attempting to learn a more advanced concept before the basics are in place are similarly not possible. For example, we cannot effectively learn factorisation before we have understood and mastered multiplication. As such, we advise that schools opt in to ‘locked journeys’ on Reflective Learning.

This limits the options when students log on, guiding them through the basics (of Numbers, Fractions, etc) before being able to move on to the more complex learning (of Problem Solving, Patterns & Algebra, etc.). This guided approach ensures learning is streamlined, efficient and impactful in the shortest time possible.

Introducing

Launchpad

THE BRIDGE BETWEEN GRADE 9 AND GRADE 10

This additional course will ensure a wider understanding of the basics, with cross-concept explanations and questions. This section is available after full mastery of the fundamentals (or Flight School) has been reached. It prepares students for the pressures and expectations in FET Maths.

Introducing

Interactive Catch Up

ENHANCED CONTENT INTERACTIVITY

The text-based catch up lessons will be given a new lease of life, with regular ‘fill in the blank’ sections to maintain focus and develop understanding, as well as the introduction of sectional loading to encourage students to focus on one element at a time, without the distraction of the rest of the page.

Introducing

Observer Accounts

SHARE ACCOUNTABILITY WITH GUARDIANS

Parents, guardians, tutors, or other invested individuals will have access to the progress and learning data of their student. These observer accounts will provide transparency and visibility to allow the responsibility of engagement to be shared between school and home.

Introducing

Fluency Games

PRACTICE NEWLY LEARNT SKILLS

With two games now launched, and many more to come, students are able to practice their newly learnt skills - developing the key elements of speed and accuracy. The learning process relies on understanding first (developed in catch up) and then the introduction of automaticity through practice (developed in the fluency games).

Introducing

New Knowledge Quizzes

PUT IT TO THE TEST

We are currently in the process of developing quizzes that will appear after each phase or section of a concept, allowing students to put into practice their new knowledge, providing the necessary opportunity for students to confirm their understanding. This will also present the opportunity to re-learn something that was missed while it is still in focus.

Introducing

Notification Centre

NO MORE DISTRACTIONS

Encouragement of targeted learning behaviours and rewards will be centralised in the notification centre. This will allow any distraction to be condensed into one area, while ensuring all important information is shared and engaged with.

Introducing

Improved Chat Engine

EFFICIENT, FAST SUPPORT

Questions will be answered faster, allowing students to get back to learning as quickly as possible, through the introduction of automations, a knowledge centre, and a trained chatbot.

Introducing

Teacher dashboard enhancements

MORE ACCESS TO MORE DATA

Allowing visibility and tracking across multiple data points and views. The new changes will provide the teacher and school with a broader view of progress and engagement, and allow the teacher to drive their decisions and motivation of students. Changes include new reports, an improved user interface, and more in-depth as well as overview data.

Introducing

Guided learner onboarding

THE MORE YOU KNOW, THE BETTER

Understanding the ‘why’ and the purpose of RL is crucial in motivating students to engage. The improved onboarding experience will explain the value of the programme and drive a higher motivation to actively participate and learn. We will guide students through the introduction using a systematic and exciting process.
